Registration of Encumbrances

Registering all forms of encumbrances over movable and immovable property in the deeds registry.

Encumbrances are burdens imposed on movable and immovable property, for example mortgage bonds, liens, notarial bonds and covering bonds.

Such encumbrances over immovable or movable property must be registered in the deeds registry in terms of the Deed Registry Act [Cap 20:05] and the accompanying regulations.
